Position Codes
Position codes generally represent the jobs your employees perform. If you have changed the Organization settings to rename position codes, they will appear based on your custom label.
- Navigate to Settings > Codes > Position Codes
- To edit a position code, click the pencil icon under the Edit column.
- To delete a position code, click the red X button under the Delete column.
- To add a new position code, click New.
Code – 4-character (a-z, A-Z, 1-9, 0) abbreviation that will represent the position throughout the product.
Description – A more detailed name/job title or explanation of what the position is.
Print order – A numerical value (>=0) used for sorting codes in the list of existing codes (codes with a lower number are shown higher to the top). Usually, it’s fine to leave this at 0, in which case codes appear in the order they were created.
Minimum Time Between Shifts – The number of hours that have to pass before someone who worked this shift is allowed to work another shift.
Allow Reassign – Sometimes employees will end up scheduled on shifts where they’re surplus to requirements. SchedulePro allows you to fine-tune your schedule and move employees off of surplus shifts into understaffed ones. Often this is done through an automatic process such as AutoSchedule or Assign Employees. However, there may be some job types where you don’t want employees to be reassigned no matter what. When creating a position code for one of those jobs, uncheck this box.
Prevent Additional Assignments – If you check this box, any employee with this position will not be eligible to receive extra shifts (additional assignments) through SchedulePro’s automatic scheduling processes.
Inactive – Checking this box for an existing position code will make it inactive.
Remove all group codes associated with this Position - When setting a code to inactive you can also remove all related group codes.
- Use the left and right arrows to assign employees secondary position codes.
- Click Save.
